Richard Hudson Takes The Helm At Dynamic Recycling And Waste Management Business Cawleys

Richard Hudson's background is in construction, waste management and recycling, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Reconomy prior to this he spent 15 years in the construction and utilities industries as a director of McNicholas PLC .

Richard believes this is a particularly exciting time to be taking a lead role with a highly successful business in the waste management and recycling sector and comments:

"The pressure to decrease landfill is going to be big driver for businesses over the next few years. One of the key strengths of my predecessor Jon Cawley's leadership has been providing clients with positive alternatives to landfill, through initiatives such as recycling food waste and investment in new more efficient recycling facilities.

As MD I'm keen to continue to demonstrate that sustainable waste management has a positive impact on the bottom line for our customers and industry, by unlocking the real economic value of waste, as well as a positive impact for society as a whole in environmental terms."

Cawleys, which now employs over 250 staff, was one of the first waste management companies to bring food waste recycling via anaerobic digestion to the commercial sector and won the Association for Organics (AfOR) Award for Retailer Recycling with Waitrose for its innovative work in this area. Cawleys work in food waste management, together with its £3m investment in state-of-the-art Material Recycling Facility, provides new MD Richard Hudson with the opportunity to position Cawleys as a leader in the recycling and waste management sector.
